City of Davis Wood Burning Program
The City of Davis is trying out a Pilot Mandatory Wood Burning Program during the 2012-13 burn season (November 1, 2012 through February 28, 2013). The goal of the program is to reduce the amount of wood burning that occurs on “Do Not Burn” days during the burn season when low air quality conditions exist. Davis residents that burn wood and generate woodsmoke on low air quality days can cause severe nearest neighbor health impacts. Under the pilot program residents are prohibited from lighting wood fires on the date (24 hour period) when low air quality conditions exist which are classified as “Do Not Burn” days.
Thank you for your cooperation and please review the information below if you have any further questions about this program.
